Our curriculum covers six areas of learning- Drawing, Painting, Collage, Textiles, Printing and Sculpture. Our intention is that the children have to opportunity to develop their skills in each area and to continuously build the essential skills of drawing and painting throughout their journey. The curriculum is designed for the children to immerse themselves in each area, take risks, experiment, work in a group, share and discuss ideas and produce stunning works of art to share with the wider school and community.
Art is interwoven throughout topic work and other subjects including Design and Technology. Children also have stand-alone lessons where they will be taught specific skills. Children learn about the lives of famous artists, living or dead, the inspirations and stories behind the works of art that made them famous or infamous!
