Geography

Our children learn a breadth of geographical  knowledge, acquire geographical vocabulary and understanding,  develop and apply their  geographical skills each year as they move through school. We believe that our children should learn in depth about their own area, and understand where their area and themselves fit in the wider world picture. They will experience and build fieldwork skills, and see how learning in Geography is an important part of all our everyday lives.

Picture
• I can learn skills and knowledge and have positive attitudes towards my achievements in geography
• I am curious to learn about the world around me
• I can find out about different areas across the world using books,  atlases, computers and globes
• I can create and use maps
• I can enquire about geography topics
• I can describe and discuss places, and will have high expectations to visit and explore some of them
• I can compare places and see how they are similar and different
• I can understand my impact on the world around me and know how I can successfully make a difference
• I can understand what affects my local area
• I can use key geographical vocabulary
