Curriculum  Year 4

Picture

Topic

During Spring term, Year 4’s new topic will be all about the Greeks! We are very excited about our new topic and we will be spending three weeks learning all about it. In the first week, we will be learning about Greek life and achievements and their influence on the western world. We will also find out about Spartans vs Athens and the difference between autocracy and democracy. In the second week, we will be creating repeated patterns looking at colour and texture. By the end, we will have created a collage depicting a Greek myth. Our third week will involve us answering the topic question. On Tuesday 7th  January, we will be hosting our very own Greek day, where the children will learn all about key aspects of Greek’s daily life. We hope the children enjoy learning about this topic and share all their new knowledge with you at home!

Home Learning

Just a reminder. We expect all children to read at home for 10 minutes - 3 times a week.
Each Friday your child will be given homework to be handed back into school by the following Wednesday.

P.E.

Because we are now going swimming three times a week until Easter half term, there will be no PE lessons during the week. We are going swimming on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. Children need to bring a costume or swimming trunks and a towel.
