The Chimp Model
Since September 2021, we have introduced ‘The Chimp Model’ which was created by Professor Steve Peters. Professor Steve Peters is a Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in the functioning of the human mind. He created ‘The Chimp Paradox’ which helps you achieve success, confidence and happiness.

In September 2021, our staff were lucky enough to have training on how the ‘Chimp Model’ works by Chimp Management. In addition to this, we also had a webinar with Professor Steve Peters on how to set up a positive classroom for the day.
During our Circle Time lessons, we have introduced the Chimp to our children. Using Professor Steve Peters ‘My Hidden Chimp’ book, we have based each lesson around how to manage your chimp through ten habits.
  1. Smiling
  2. Saying sorry
  3. Being Kind to someone
  4. Talking about your feelings
  5. Asking for help
  6. Showing good manners
  7. Trying new things
  8. Accepting when “no” really means “no”
  9. Learning to share
  10. Doing what you have to do
